The 13th JSAI International Symposia on AI (JSAI-isAI 2021) will take place entirely online at Raiosha in Hiyoshi Campus of Keio University, Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan, on November 13 through 15, 2021. JSAI-isAI is an event that hosts multiple international workshops at the same location, providing a unique and intimate forum for colleagues in a focused discipline. JSAI-isAI also provides an important opportunity for AI researchers to get together and share their knowledge. JSAI-isAI 2021 is in succession to the international workshops co-located with JSAI annual conferences since 2009.

Workshop 1: Fifteenth International Workshop on Juris-Informatics (JURISIN 2021)
Juris-informatics is a new research area which studies legal issues from the perspective of informatics. The purpose of this workshop is to discuss both the fundamental and practical issues for juris-informatics among people from the various backgrounds such as law, social science, information and intelligent technology, logic and philosophy, including the conventional “AI and law” area. We solicit unpublished papers on theories, technologies and applications on juris-informatics.
Co-Chairs: Yasuhiro Ogawa (Nagoya University), Makoto Nakamura (Niigata Institute of Technology)

Workshop 2: Logic and Engineering of Natural Language Semantics 18 (LENLS18)
LENLS is an annual international workshop on formal syntax, semantics and pragmatics. We invite submissions on topics in formal syntax, model-theoretic and/or proof-theoretic semantics, computational semantics, game-theoretic/bayesian approaches to pragmatics, non-classical logic and its relation to natural language, and formal philosophy of language.
Co-Chairs: Alastair Butler (Hirosaki University), Daisuke Bekki (Ochanomizu University), Elin McCready (Aoyama Gakuin University), Koji Mineshima (Keio University)

Workshop 3: Fifth International Workshop on Scientific Document Analysis (SCIDOCA2021)
Recent proliferation of scientific papers and technical documents has become an obstacle to efficient information acquisition of new information in various fields. It is almost impossible for individual researchers to check and read all related documents. Even retrieving relevant documents is becoming harder and harder. This workshop gathers all the researchers and experts who are aiming at scientific document analysis from various perspectives, and invite technical paper presentations and system demonstrations that cover any aspects of scientific document analysis.

Workshop 4: Kansei and artificial intelligence (Kansei-AI 2021)
Various textures perceived through the five senses are used in our decision making and executions. Our level of understanding and methodology differ in each of the five senses. Researches in visual-texture perception are said to be the most developed among all. However, the neural mechanism of visual-texture perception remains unclear for the most part. Thus, there is no established way to reproduce the mechanism with artificial intelligence. In the field of tactile-texture perception research, where tactile has been considered to be primitive compared to vision, technologies to display tactile sensation using artificial intelligent are awaited. Various of problems are making them difficult to be realized: Auditory-texture perception caused by complex signal modulation, Taste-texture perception inseparable from visual sense and sense of smell, and elucidation of the relationship of higher-order sensitivity processing in brain. Approaches based on statistical machine learning represented by ‘deep-learning’ which has been remarkably developed in recent years are being applied to understand the overview of the brain that constitutes the texture perception network. These attempts are mainly focused on visual-texture aspects and few are reported related to tactile-texture so far. This WS is to be an opportunity to share the progress of research and to share methodology by researchers studying the five senses. The scope of this WS shall be: (1) research of science and engineering related to value judgements made through the five senses, such as image processing, tactile engineering, acoustics, machine learning, sensitivity engineering, and natural language processing (2) research of biological systems, psychophysical, and neuroscience. We would like to discuss the scientific understanding of texture information processing and the possibility of developing new artificial intelligence research.

Workshop 5: Artificial Intelligence of and for Business 2021 (AI-Biz 2021)
The objective of this workshop is to foster the concepts and techniques of “Business Intelligence (BI).” in Artificial Intelligence. BI should include such cutting-edge techniques as data science, agent-based modelling, complex adaptive systems, and IoT. The application areas include but not limited to business management, financial engineering, service sciences, manufacturing engineering, and so on.
The basic idea of BI would enhance the capabilities of conventional techniques in the business domain, however, so far, we have not discussed BI concepts deeply in artificial intelligence literature. We would like to focus on BI topics to the issues of firms and organizations for getting more benefits on interactions with human- and computer- mixed systems.
The main purpose of this workshop is to provide a forum to discuss important research questions and practical challenges in Business Intelligence, Business Informatics, Data Analysis and Agent-based Modelling to exchange latest results, to join efforts in solving the common challenges. It is also to establish effective communication between researchers and developers involved in both areas. The workshop will provide opportunities for the participants to exchange new ideas and experiences to establish research or business network and to find global partners for future collaboration.
