Japanese (Call for Registrations and Papers for International Sessions)

At this conference in 2019, we plan new international sessions for presentations in English. Papers in artificial intelligence and the related fields, and papers on case reports and presentations in English are received and reviewed. In addition to oral presentations, we also set up a place for interactive presentations with posters. These will be sessions consisting only of English papers and English presentations (topics below).

Method of application

At the time of submission, please select the relevant category below and further specify the keyword that shows below (note: the keywords may be added by 31 December 2018). Select one to five of the applicable categories and keywords from the list.
Please include (1) the objective and (2) the outline of your conclusions of results in the abstract under the author information. Also please state the outline of your method as necessary in the abstract. Submissions without any description about (1) or (2) in the abstract may not be considered for presentation or publication.

E-3. Agents
Human agent interaction, agent design, mechanism design, multi-agent systems, autonomous agents, cooperative problem solving, automated negotiations, agent-based simulation, auction, cloud computing, collective intelligence, human computation and crowdsourcing, etc.

E-4. Robots and real worlds
Intelligent robots, knowledge processing of robots, human-robot interaction, environment recognition, position estimation, sensor network, robotics and automation, symbol emergence in robotics, etc.

E-5. Human interface, education aid
Intelligent interface, human-computer interaction, virtual/augmented reality, intelligent learning aid, e-learning, learning analytics and educational data mining, user/learner modeling, communication aid, design aid, HAI, Shikakeology, etc.

We collaborate with PFIA 2019, the annual symposium (https://www.irit.fr/pfia2019/) of AFIA, the French AI Society. Five of their conferences (APIA, CAp, CNIA, IC, RJCIA) correspond to the five categories above.
We also collaborate with TAAI 2019, the annual conference series of the Taiwanese Association for Artificial Intelligence for all domains in our international sessions.

Requirement of the submission

The research papers and case reports of artificial intelligence and the related fields shown in the categories listed below. The acceptable language for the international session is English only.

Restriction on the number of applications

An applicant can submit and make at most one presentation at the conference as a whole. One cannot make both of an interactive presentation with a poster and a presentation in the international oral session by the same presenter.

Preview of the paper

The PDF files of all the papers to be presented will be made available on the web on or after May 24, 2019 (Friday). We cannot accept any exceptional individual correspondence, so please keep in mind this schedule in terms of securing the right of patent application etc.

Notification

The acceptance/rejection will be notified by April 2019, after the review on the criteria of the importance and the relevance to the conference, novelty, technical quality and clarity of the article. After the notification, the change of any part of the content cannot be accepted. Note: an applicant who is the author of an accepted submission must pay the fee in case of withdrawal after acceptance.

Policy of awards and post proceedings

Particularly excellent papers are planned for selection and publication as Post Proceedings from Springer Verlag. If the paper selected for the award is multi-authored and the first author is a member of JSAI, we will honor all the authors of the JSAI member as to the paper.

Registration and presentation fee

We are accepting participation and presentation fee payment from March 4 (Monday), 2019. Complete the payment of presentation and participation fee until April 24 (Wednesday), 2019 after your submitted paper is accepted, by bank transfer or credit payment. If you are going to confirm your presentation and participation fee or to make credit card payment, please log on Confit and do it. We would ask OS invited speakers to make participation registration, too.
Registration fees, which are common for both of presenters and audiences, are shown in the following table. The fee for JSAI members is less expensive than that for others. If you are not the member now, we strongly recommend you to apply for the membership in this occasion. The membership application is shown in https://www.ai-gakkai.or.jp/en/about/membership/. If you are going to become a JSAI member to participate in this conference as the member, you need to complete the membership application and the payment of membership fee by the end of April, 2019. Unless your membership application is in time for this day, please participate in this conference as non-member. From January, 2019, we are accepting application for the membership of 2019 fiscal year, which is from April 1, 2019 to March 31, 2020.
The fee of early-bird registration is less expensive than that of late or on-site registration. The reception desk at the conference for on-site registration is predicted to be very crowded with people. We suggest you should finish your registration and the payment in advance.

*1: We would ask applicants submitting their paper to complete their payment of presentation fee with registration fee until Wednesday April 24th, 2019. Unless we can confirm the payments at that time, his/her paper might be canceled.

*2: This option is available for an attendee who belongs to a support member company but is not a paper submitter in this conference. We offer the same price as a regular member’s up to five people of the support member company per one contribution unit. This option, however, is unavailable for paper submitters.
