The influence of virtual avatar characteristics such as race and gender on learning has attracted attention in the field of education. However, the influence of virtual avatar personalities on learning is still largely unknown. In this study, I created a class environment on the Metaverse, and created four virtual avatar personalities. I asked the participants to pretend to be a virtual avatar given personality and take two classes on the Metaverse and the tests of their comprehension. Through this experiment, I examined the influence of virtual avatar personalities on learning, the relationship between the given personalities and the original personalities of the participants, the influence of stereotype threat on learning, and the influence of virtual avatar gender on learning. Considering the above outcomes, I considered the possibility of education in the Metaverse. As a result of this experiment, pretending to be a diligent virtual avatar showed the potential for good influence on learning.
