This study investigates what elements of academic emotions can be communicated to humans using a 3D virtual agent. It is known that people have six emotions, anger, disgust, sadness, contempt, surprise, and fear, and that they can be identified by the combination of movements around the human eyebrows, eyes, and mouth. However, it is not yet clear what factors can be used to discriminate academic emotions, which are classified into nine categories: enjoyment, boredom, anger, hope, anxiety, despair, pride, relief, and shame.[1] Therefore, this study investigates facial expressions that can represent academic emotions. We created images of facial expressions and asked subjects to answer the questions. By conducting the experiment multiple times, we will investigate the relationship between the facial movements necessary for each emotion. Based on the results obtained from the experiment, we compare the facial expressions. The results show the necessary facial information by analyzing whether there are significant differences. As a result, we were able to show five facial expressions representing five emotions: enjoyment, anxiety, boredom, relief, and despair.
