JSAI-isAI is an<br \/>\nevent that hosts several international workshops at the same location.<br \/>\nThis is in succession to the international workshops co-located with<br \/>\nJSAI annual conferences since 2001. The JSAI-isAI 2010 committee has<br \/>\nselected the following four outstanding workshops. This year we especially<br \/>\nwelcome submissions related to the &#8220;Formal Structures of Salience&#8221;.<br \/>\nSalience is a concept with broad application in linguistics and<br \/>\nphilosophy; in recent years, it has played a role in the analysis of<br \/>\nphenomena including focus, particles, and anaphora resolution within<br \/>\nlinguistics, and in philosophy it has been used in analyses of various<br \/>\nkinds of context dependency (e.g. domain restriction and vagueness), as<br \/>\nwell as in the analysis of convention. However, in many cases, the<br \/>\nconcept of salience is left as a primitive. The purpose of<br \/>\nthis workshop is to discuss both the fundamental and practical issues<br \/>\nfor juris-informatics among people from the various backgrounds such as<br \/>\nlaw, social science, information and intelligent technology, logic and<br \/>\nphilosophy, including the conventional &#8220;AI and law&#8221; area. This workshop in Tokyo is motivated<br \/>\nby the systems-design dimension of the service science.
