The second JSAI International Symposia on AI (JSAI-isAI) will take
\nplace in Tokyo on November 18 (thu) and 19 (fri), 2010. JSAI-isAI is an
\nevent that hosts several international workshops at the same location.
\nThis is in succession to the international workshops co-located with
\nJSAI annual conferences since 2001. The JSAI-isAI 2010 committee has
\nselected the following four outstanding workshops. For those who are
\ninterested in participating and attending one of those workshops, please
\nvisit the web page of each workshop and contact the organizer(s). We
\nare looking forward to meeting you all at JSAI-isAI 2010.<\/p>\n

Workshop 01: Logic and Engineering of Natural Language Semantics 7 (LENLS 7)<\/h4>\n

LENLS is an annual international workshop focusing on formal
\nsemantics, formal pragmatics and related fields. This year we especially
\nwelcome submissions related to the “Formal Structures of Salience”.
\nSalience is a concept with broad application in linguistics and
\nphilosophy; in recent years, it has played a role in the analysis of
\nphenomena including focus, particles, and anaphora resolution within
\nlinguistics, and in philosophy it has been used in analyses of various
\nkinds of context dependency (e.g. domain restriction and vagueness), as
\nwell as in the analysis of convention. However, in many cases, the
\nconcept of salience is left as a primitive. Submissions discussing
\nfoundational issues in the understanding of salience would be welcomed.
\nWe especially hope for contributions with a formal orientation.<\/p>\n

Workshop 02: Fourth International Workshop on Juris-informatics (JURISIN 2010)<\/h4>\n

Aims and scope: Juris-informatics is a new research area which
\nstudies legal issues from the perspective of informatics. The purpose of
\nthis workshop is to discuss both the fundamental and practical issues
\nfor juris-informatics among people from the various backgrounds such as
\nlaw, social science, information and intelligent technology, logic and
\nphilosophy, including the conventional “AI and law” area. We solicit
\nunpublished papers on theories, technologies and applications on
\njuris-informatics.<\/p>\n

Workshop 03: First International Workshop on Advanced Methodologies for Bayesian Networks (AMBN 2010)<\/h4>\n

Over the last few decades, Bayesian Networks (BNs) have become an
\nincreasingly popular AI approach. In this workshop we explore
\nmethodologies for enhancing the effectiveness of BNs including modeling,
\nreasoning, model selection, logic-probability relations, and causality.
\nThe exploration of methodologies is complemented discussions of
\npractical considerations for applying BNs in real world settings,
\ncovering concerns like scalability, incremental learning,
\nparallelization, and so on.<\/p>\n

Workshop 04: International Workshop on Innovating Service Systems (ISS2010)<\/h4>\n

Service science has been raised, and coming to be established as a
\nresearch domain all over the world. This workshop in Tokyo is motivated
\nby the systems-design dimension of the service science. We aim to share
\nand discuss a progressive vision to develop methods for innovating
\nsystems of service resources where novel values are created and supplied
\nsustainably.<\/p>\n

JSAI-isAI2010 takes place at the Campus Innovation Center, just 1
\nminute walk from JR (Japan Railway) Yamanote-Line, Tamachi Station [google map]<\/a>.
\nTamachi is located amidst Tokyo, close to major parts of Tokyo, such as
\n8 miuntes train ride from the Tokyo station, 4 minutes ride from
\nShimbashi, 16 minutes ride from Shibuya, and 23 minutes ride from
\nShinjyuku.<\/p>\n
There are no officially affiliated hotels to JSAI-isAI2010 workshops.
